Public consultation on lifts

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the safety of lifts - an evaluation of Directive 2014/33/EU on lifts. The purpose of the evaluation is to assess whether the Lifts Directive remains fit for purpose according to those who develop, manufacture, import, distribute, install, assess conformity, maintain, upgrade, repair, recycle, own or use lifts and safety components for lifts, or supervise or coordinate these activities. On the basis of the conclusions of the evaluation, the European Commission will decide whether the Directive needs to be revised in order to continue to meet its objectives.
