Characteristic of the Office

The Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMZ) was established by Act No 20/1993 Coll., on Ensuring of Exercise of the State Administration in the Field of the Technical Standardization, Metrology and Testing. ÚNMZ is a state budgetary organization and state organizational unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. ÚNMZ has been established to provide the performance of the state administration in the field of technical standardization, metrology and state testing and tasks in the area of technical regulations and standards applicable in connection with the Czech Republic´s membership in the EU. With the effect from 1 January 2018 all activities relating with development, publication and distribution of technical standards were transferred to the Czech Standardization Agency (CAS).
